Gestern hat auch die Broadcast Film Critics Society (BFCS) die Nominierungen für die Critics Choice Awards bekanntgegeben. Annähernd 200 Filmkritiker aus den USA und Kanada sind hier Mitglied, so dass diese Preise ein erster wichtiger Wegweiser für die kommenden Golden Globes und Oscars sind. Mit jeweils elf Nominierungen untermauern „The Artist“ und „Hugo“ die letzten Erfolge bei den Kritikerpreise. Weitaus spannender finde ich, dass „Drive“ ebenfalls zehnmal nominiert wurde.

In den Schauspielkategorien werden sechs Darsteller nominiert, also einer mehr als bei den Oscars. Mittlerweile gibt es hier einige Favoriten – auf eine Nominierung: Meryl Streep wird wohl dabei sein, ebenfalls Viola Davis und Michelle Williams. Bei den Schauspielern sieht es derzeit gut aus für Bradt Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio und George Clooney. Hier ist aber weitaus spannender, wer nicht nominiert wurde. So spielt Glenn Close bislang keine Rolle, obwohl sie für ihre Leistung in „Albert Nobbs“ von vielen schon als Favoritin gesehen wurde – und auch Gary Oldman mit „Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy“ nicht. Stattdessen rücken Charlize Theron („Young Adult“) und Elizabeth Olsen („Martha Marcy May Marlene“) sowie Michael Fassbender („Shame“) und Ryan Gosling („Driver“) in den erweiterten Favoritenkreis. Erstaunlich gut schlägt sich auch weiterhin „Bridesmaids“. Die Verleihung findet am 12. Januar 2012 statt.
